Russia*Reader Confused Sunflower ch 5

At 9 pm, you finally called him back.

“Hey Ivan.”

“Sunflower! You all right, da? You didn't call me back. What happened?”

“I'm fine, I'm fine.” You lied assuredly.

“Why didn't you answer any of my calls, Sunflower?” He still sounded worried.

“I ..uhhh.... I lost my phone and I didn't find it until just now.” You replied. Ivan sounded cheerful again. You could picture the childish grin on his face as he replied.

“You ok now, da!”

“Yeah, but I'm really tired.”

“Oh, why?”

“I couldn't sleep last night.” Of course you would never tell him why. There was a pause ans you inexplicably got worried. “Ivan?” You heard him chuckle.

“Sorry Sunflower. I forgot that you couldn't see me and I nodded.” He laughed. You smiled in spite  of yourself and suddenly really wanted to see him.

“Ivan?”

“Da?”

“Sorry I couldn't make it to the park. Do you want a rain check?” Ivan chuckled again.

“American are so strange, da. Yes, Sunflower, but not tomorrow. I will be busy all day. Monday, right after school, da?” You nodded, disappointed at the wait and then laughed at yourself.

“Ivan, you've cursed me!”

“Da? How?”

“I just nodded.” I could almost here him grinning.

“But not a bad curse, da?” You laughed.

“See you Monday, Ivan.”

“See you, Sunflower. I'll be thinking of you.” And with that, he hung up.
